Focus 2: f(n)ull, Weight In the second phase of her project Emma: f(n)ull, the ambivalences of “the heaviness of love (fullness) and the lightness of dissolution (zero/emptiness)” are reflected in the contrasts of light textiles and leather, plaster, metal and colors (white-black).
Based on the concept of fullness and emptiness, the work in the Wood exhibition is transformed into wood chips and wood reliefs.

Using the symbolic figure Emma (phonetically similar to 엄마 "Eom-ma", Korean for mom), Jeongkyoung Woo approaches her fears and the heaviness of (motherly) love. She tells the story of Emma, who is too nervous to have her own driver's license and drives through life in the passenger seat, forever dependent on others. In Jeongkyoung Woo's works, the car functions as a symbol of fear. In delicate risographs, she declines it from all perspectives through an artist's book consisting of 105 daily drawings. In her spatial textile relief series and sculptures, material and process are part of the discussion. The heaviness of love (fullness) and the lightness of dissolution (zero/emptiness) are reflected in the contrasts of light textile and leather, plaster, and metal.
